Most of the pictures on this page were
sent to me by people who have visited the website. Some had explanations,
others did not. Some were sent from the United Kingdom, Germany,
Philippines and other countries outside of the United States.

I had been looking for a picture like this for quite awhile.
Many years ago in our area there were no ambulances services or anything like
them. Almost every funeral home that I can remember that owned a hearse
also used it as an ambulance. They were custom made for it and it was
normal for the vehicle to be out during the evening and early morning hours
transporting living people and then only a few hours later to be used to carry
the dead.

The above photo was sent to me in September of 2003 by a
friend that moved to Plano, Texas many years ago. It was explained as the
aftermath of some sort of disaster that took place where there were hundreds of
people killed and so many funerals were being conducted at one time that there
were not enough hearses to accommodate everyone. So I am guessing, as the
picture shows, that they used pick up trucks. I had emailed my friend
before putting the picture on the website, because I wanted to know more, but
the email address was no longer in existence. I just found the picture to
be interesting.
