Often times people get upset when we tell them that we cannot find any information regarding their request.  Although we make every effort that we can to help someone with their genealogy request, we are not the only funeral home in the area, we never have been and haven't handled the funeral arrangements for everyone.

    As far as I can be sure of, in 1870 there were 8 other funeral establishments in our vicinity.  There may have been more.  They are all long gone out of business and not too many people today even know they ever existed.  To the best of my knowledge no one knows where their records, if there were any, ended up.

    Some people are under the impression that we were the only funeral establishment and must have handled the arrangements that they are looking for, but just don't want to be bothered looking up the information.

    Unfortunately even the state didn't keep reliable, accurate records regarding funerals until 1906.  So reliable records dating that far back can be hard to find.
