
Chester R. Armbrust

Chester R. Armbrust, 78, of Norristown, died Saturday at Rittenhouse Pine Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. His wife is the former Ethel Searfoss.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Chester and Madeline Miller Armbrust, he moved from Scranton in 1953 and attended the former Eckels Mortuary School in Philadelphia. He was employed as a funeral director and insurance agent. He worked for the Miller Bean Funeral Home and the former Dunaway Funeral Home in Norristown, while also working as a life insurance agent with Metropolitan Life. He was a member of the Haws Avenue Methodist Church, where he was a volunteer in the kitchen for the church's many community dinners and a Scout leader with the church Scout program. He was also a member of the Masons Charity Lodge No. 190.
Also surviving are three sons, Mark, West Norriton; Kirk, Trooper; and Gary, Norristown; a daughter, Lynn Armbrust, Jeffersonville; a brother, Robert Armbrust; three sisters, Clara "Dolly" and Madeline Armbrust, both of Scranton; and Mary Louise Hielscher, Bethlehem; and four grandchildren
The funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family at a later date.
