Evelyn Deiter

    Evelyn Deiter, 102, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Friday morning at the Allied Skilled Nursing Center. Born Sept. 1, 1901, in Scranton, daughter of the late Frederick and Josephine Weichel Deiter, she was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church for many years. Before retirement, she had been employed by the Globe Store, Scranton.

    She enjoyed dancing and traveling. She loved people and saw the good in everybody.

    Surviving are a brother, Harold S. Deiter, Scranton; a niece and a nephew.

    She was preceded in death by a sister, Romaine Howells, and two brothers, Joseph and Frederick Deiter.

    The funeral will be Monday with services at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., by the Rev. M. Jon Eastwood, pastor, St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Interment will be private in Forest Hill Cemetery, Dunmore.

    Friends may call Monday, 10 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 611 Birch St., 18505.
