Margaret Milbrandt Haberland

    Margaret Milbrandt Haberland, 99, a lifelong resident of the Petersburg section of Scranton, died Wednesday afternoon at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania. Her husband, Carl C. Haberland, died Dec. 12, 1996.

    Born in Scranton, daughter of the late August and Matilda Rolf Milbrandt, she lived all her life in the house she was born in. She was educated in Scranton public schools and was a graduate of Scranton Lackawanna College, which is now Lackawanna College. She was a member of the Green Ridge Assembly of God Church, active in the Sunday School department and was the children's superintendent for 30 years. She was employed as a bookkeeper and stenographer by the Scranton Enameling Co., later by Crowell Collier Reader Service and until retirement by Budget Marketing Co.

    Surviving are nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and cousins.

    She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lena Koehler and Mildred Derr, and a brother, Carl.

    The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., with services by the Rev. Dominick Piscitelli, pastor, Green Ridge Assembly of God Church, and the Rev. David Twiss, youth pastor, Green Ridge Assembly of God Church. Interment, private at the convenience of the family in Dunmore Cemetery.

    Friends may call Saturday, 1 p.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Green Ridge Assembly of God Building Fund, 825 Green Ridge St., 18509-1994.
