Betty G. Hogan, 62, of Dunmore, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., died Monday afternoon at Moses Taylor Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Cobb, Ga., daughter of the late Willie and Jessie Timmons Hogan, she was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Georgia, where she served as an usher. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister.
Her companion is Lynwood Hunter. Also surviving are a son, Robert Hogan, Brooklyn; two daughters, Williemae and Betty Hogan, both of Scranton; two brothers, Willie B. and Frank Hogan, both of Scranton; five sisters, Doris Everett, Vienna, Ga.; Julia Pierce, Cobb; Bertha Houston, Brooklyn; Liza Fortt and Rosemary Hogan, both of Scranton; four grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wesly and Henry Hogan, and a sister, Diane Hogan.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Shiloh Baptist Church, 915 N. Washington Ave., by the Rev. Reginald D. McClain, pastor. Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery, Dunmore.
Friends may call Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., and Saturday, 9 to 10 a.m., at the church.
