Robert George Wetter, 62, a longtime Dunmore resident, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. He and his wife, the former Sandra Beck, celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary Jan. 15.
Born in Scranton, the son of Marjorie Genello Wetter, Scranton, and the late George L. Wetter, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Before retirement, he was employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad, Allentown.
He was a loving and caring man, who always placed others' needs before his own.
Also surviving are two daughters, Susan Wilga, Scranton, and Sharon Davey, Dunmore; a brother, Ronald Wetter, Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Joanne Mundy, Scranton; three grandsons; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Friday with services at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., by the Rev. Fred Snyder, pastor, Dunmore United Methodist Church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
Friends may call Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m., and Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
