Wilhelmina Scheuer Cottone, 89, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Scranton and Lake Winola, died Sunday at the Boca Raton Community Hospital after an illness. She was the wife of Dr. Benjamin Cottone from 1977 until his death in 1998.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Wilhelmina Robinson Scheuer, she was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and Wheelock College, Mass. She was a member of Elm Park United Methodist Church, the Ladies of UNICO, Century Club, Scranton Women's Club and the Scranton Women's Teachers Club. She was active in the Irem Temple. Prior to retirement, she was first employed as a schoolteacher at Wyoming Seminary, Kingston, and then as an elementary teacher for the Scranton Public School District.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, William.
The funeral will be Saturday with services at 11 a.m. in Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., by the Rev. Rees F. Warring, pastor, Elm Park United Methodist Church. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
