
Howard F. Fuess

Howard F. Fuess, 88, a resident of Scranton and Lake Cadjaw, Honesdale, died early Sunday at Community Medical Center. His wife is the former Mary Allen. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on Wednesday.
Born in Scranton, son the late Harry A. and Elizabeth Neher Fuess, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and a Navy veteran of World War II, and received an associate's degree from Penn State University. Prior to retirement, was employed in the composing room at The Scranton Times.
He was member of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church and the 50-Year Club of The Scranton Times, and played clarinet and saxophone for Ringgold Band and Staples Orchestra.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Also surviving are a son, Richard H. and wife Jean T. Fuess, Red Lion; a daughter, Barbara and husband Richard H. CianFichi, Scranton; a sister, Madelyn and husband Edward Keib, Scranton; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a niece, a nephew and a cousin.
The funeral will be Wednesday with services at 8 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., by the Rev. Tom H. Collins, pastor, Hickory Street Presbyterian Church. Cremation, Maple Hill Crematory, Hanover Township.
