Rena A. Krause, 83, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died early Monday at Community Medical Center after an illness. She was the widow of Russell F. Krause, who died June 29, 1984.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Harry J. and Irena W. Petry Bloom, she was a 1939 graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Women of St. John's. Prior to retirement, she was employed at Brooks & Co. and at Buchner's Flower Shop.
Surviving are a sister, Romayne M. Grabowski, Scranton; two nephews, Lee Grabowski, Clarks Summit, and Harry Grabowski, Scranton; a niece, Susan Russell, Dickson City; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Haney, on Oct. 24, 1975.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., with services by the Rev. Lester E. Stephenson, pastor, St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
Friends may call Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m., and Thursday, 10 a.m. until service time.
