William H. Rhodes

    William H. "Poppy" Rhodes, 72 , a resident of Dickson City, died Thursday at Moses Taylor Hospital after a lengthy illness. His first wife, the former Marilou Johns, preceded him in death.

    Born in Scranton, son of the late William and Esther Tompkins Freeman, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Northeast Environment Associates.

    Surviving are his second wife, Rosalind Novac Rhodes, Dickson City; three sons, William, Dickson City; Jeffrey, Factoryville; and James, Clarks Summit; a daughter, Debra Rhodes, Dickson City; two brothers, Russell Freeman, Edison, N.J., and Robert Freeman, Scranton; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

    The funeral and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no public calling hours.
