Frederick R. Getts

Frederick R. Getts, 81, a Moosic resident, died Monday afternoon at Mercy Hospital. His wife, the former Lucette Benicourt, died March 26, 1961.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Adam and Lucy Repert Getts, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Prior to retirement, he worked as a machinist for Roover Inc. He was a member of AARP and the American Legion.
Surviving are two sons, Lee R. and wife Donna, West Nanticoke, and Glenn, Moosic; two grandchildren, Lee R. Getts Jr., West Nanticoke, and Nichole Carey, Noxen; and three great-grandchildren, Lacey, Cahil and Ayden Carey.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Clyde F. Getts, in 1962, and Gary Robert Getts, in 1995.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., with services by the Rev. Arthur W. Davis, retired pastor with the United Methodist ministry. Interment, Pittston Avenue Cemetery, Scranton.
