Glenn W. Johnson Jr., 85, a resident of Factoryville, formerly of Scranton, died late Thursday at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, after a lengthy illness. He and his wife, the former Anita B. Masker, would have celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary Oct. 15. His first wife, the former Shirley E. Allen, died Nov. 8, 1987.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Glenn W. Sr. and Cora Schmitt Johnson, he was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 357, Hall-stead.
He was employed by Eureka Printing until its closing. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Scranton School District.
Also surviving are two sons, Glenn, Isle of Palms, S.C., and William, Portsmouth, Va.; two daughters, Lynn Lesh, Scranton, and Cheryl Wallace, Portsmouth, Va.; two stepdaughters, Carol Duffy, Browndale, and Elsa Selwood, Factoryville; a sister, Florence Parry, Newton Lake; 12 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Gallagher.
The funeral will be Tuesday with services at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., by the Rev. George J. Mathews Jr., pastor, Trinity Lutheran Church, Clarks Summit. Interment, Nicholson Cemetery.
