Christian J. Fickus

    Christian J. "Chris" Fickus, 92, a longtime resident of Dunmore, died early Friday at the hospice unit of Mercy Hospital after a lengthy illness. His wife, the former Marie Osborn, died Dec. 30.

    Born and raised in South Scranton, son of the late William and Wilhelmina "Minnie" Rosar Fickus, he was a member of the Myrtle Street United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He worked at Specialty Records and prior to retirement was employed by S.J. Aronsohn Inc., Silk Mill.

    Surviving are two daughters, Linda Fickus and Susan Fickus, both of Dunmore; nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Doris; two brothers, Harold and William; and three sisters, Ruth Fickus, Verna McGurgan and Helyn M. Stephens.

    The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., with services by the Rev. Betty J. Reilly, pastor, Myrtle Street United Methodist Church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
