John L. Kramer

    John L. Kramer, 69, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died early Friday morning at Mercy Hospital after an illness.

    Born in Scranton, son of the late John A. and Ethel Kurash Kramer, he was a graduate of Johnson Trade School, where he studied carpentry. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean conflict.

    Prior to retirement, he was employed by Northeast Airlines as a commercial pilot and instructor. After retiring from the airline, he was self-employed as a carpenter and cabinetmaker.

    He was a loving brother and uncle who had many friends. He was an avid hunter.

    Surviving are three brothers, Ronald, Florida; Dale, Scranton; and Wayne, Crawford, Md.; and nieces and nephews.

    The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., with services by the Rev. Arthur W. Davis, retired pastor with the United Methodist Ministry. Interment, Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Township.
