Robert  K.  Armbrust

    Robert K. Armbrust, 71, a longtime resident of Akron, OH, formerly of Scranton, died unexpectedly February 12 at his home.

 
    He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Chester and Madeline S. Miller Armbrust. He was a former member of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Scranton Central High School and a 1956 graduate of Duke University where he received a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and was immediately hired by the Goodyear Aerospace Corporation as a test engineer. Prior to final retirement he worked as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. He served in the US Army reserves from 1958 to 1966.


    He loved sports, especially basketball and bowling, he played in a number of leagues.


    He is survived by three sisters, Miss Clara “Dolly” Armbrust, Scranton, Miss Madeline Armbrust, Scranton, Mary Louise Hielscher and her husband Frank, Bethlehem; a sister in law, Ethel, Norristown; 3 nephews, Mark, Kirk and Gary, a niece, Lynn, 3 grandnieces and a grandnephew, and cousins.


    He was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Armbrust of Norristown.


    Grave side services were held Tuesday in the Dunmore Cemetery by the Rev. Tom H. Collins, pastor of Hickory Street Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc..
