Frank  J.  Kilvitis

    Frank J. “Edgar” Kilvitis, 77, a longtime resident of the Minooka section of Scranton died peacefully Sunday afternoon after a lengthy illness, in the Abington Manor Nursing Home were he had been a guest for the past seven years. He was the widow of the former Santina Galantini who died August 25, 1998.

 
    He was born in Greenwood, son of the late Frank Kilvitis and the late Bertha Kriger Kilvitis Jasieniecki and the stepson of the late John Jasieniecki. He attended Greenwood Schools and was a WW II US Navy Veteran and a Veteran of the US Army. Prior to retirement he had been employed by Poly-Hi Plastics, Minooka.

 
    He was a loving father, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed.


    Surviving are two daughters; Carol L., who was also his care giver and her husband Gregory Niemiec, Taylor, Sandra Osborne, Taylor; a son, Frank J. And his wife Lone, SC; a brother, Arthur, Avoca; 2 sisters, Caroline Basta, Old Forge and Theresa Patterson, Meadville; a daughter in law, Joanie Partsch, Sarasota, FL; a dear friend, Tommy Jimmy, Scranton; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.


    He was preceded in death an infant sister Frances, and a nephew.


    A Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with services by Rev. Arthur P. Davis, Pastor of First Congregational Church of Christ, Taylor. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in St. John’s Cemetery, Jessup.


    Friends may call Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
