Glenn  E.  McCoy

    Glenn E. McKoy, 57, a resident of Scranton, formerly of Jamaica, Queens, NY, died Sunday morning, in VNA Hospice of Lackawanna County inpatient unit at Community Medical Center. His companion for the past 11 years is Vevlin Brown.

    He was born in Rowland, NC, the son of the late Howard and Lena McArthur McKoy. He attended school in Jamaica, Queens, NY and was employed by Outlook Pointe at Scranton as a cook.

    Glenn was a very family orientated man. In his free time he enjoyed watching his Sunday sports especially basketball.

    Also is surviving a son, Glenn McKoy, Jr; 3 stepchildren Renee, Kissy and Donielle, all of Charlotte, NC; 2 sisters, Glenda Briggs, Scranton, Jean Grey, New York, NY; 3 brothers, Thomas Moore, Charlotte, NC, John McKoy, Charlotte, NC and Elvester McKoy, New York, NY; 3 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary McKoy.
 

    The funeral will be Wednesday with Services at 1 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with services by Reverend Kathryn Simmons, of Bethel AME Church. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery, Dunmore.
 

    Friends may call Tuesday to 6 to 9 p.m.
