Marjorie Nye

    Marjorie “Marge” Stuhan Nye, 81, a resident of Scranton, died Wednesday morning at home. She was the beloved wife of Norman R. Nye who died November 12, 1992, they were married 49 years.

    She was born and raised in Scranton, the daughter of the late John and Julia Harcovitch Stuhan, a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church, East Mountain. Prior to retirement, she was employed part time by Herff-Jones Company.

    She was a loving caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother “Nonnie”. She took great pride in entertaining, cooking, baking and decorating, especially for each holiday. She loved her Lord and had a warm, generous and tender heart. She was known for spreading cheer and joy to many people. When her children were young, she was a Cub Scout den mother and active in the PTA.

    Surviving are 2 sons, Dennis and his wife Rosemary Rochon Nye, their children, Jaime, Tyler and Katerina Nye, Scranton; Terry and his wife Rita Janowicz Nye and their children Brienna and Austin Nye, Moscow; two sisters, Betty Lukasik, Scranton and Madeline Amendt, Clarks Summit; nieces & nephews.

    She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cynthia Marie, 2 brothers, Michael and John Stuhan; 2 sisters; Marie Cappola and Ann Knoff.

    The funeral will be Monday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, on the corner of East Elm St. and Froude Ave. Interment, Saint Catherine’s Cemetery, Covington Township.
