Elizabeth J. Lewis

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Lewis, 70, a longtime resident of East Mountain, died early
Friday morning in the Moses Taylor Hospital after a lengthy illness. She and her
husband Richard A. Lewis would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary
May 12, 2005.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late G. Nelson
and Ruth Emma Baker Gebing. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School
class of 1952. Prior to retirement she had been employed by Parodi Cigar
Company. She was a den mother of Cub Scout Pack #10, East Mountain and a member of
the Mothers Auxiliary of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop #10, East Mountain.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great
grandmother who will be missed by her family.
Also surviving are 4 sons, Richard N., Scranton, Donald H.,
Eynon, Douglas J., Scranton and Kurt A., Uniondale; a daughter, Lillian Reilly,
Scranton; a sister, Lois Depew, Scranton; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild,
nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Saar.
Funeral Services and interment will be private at the
convenience of the family. Friends may call Monday 7 to 9 p.m. In the Miller
Bean Funeral Home, Inc. 436 Cedar Ave. Scranton.
