Maria C. Kollar, 51, a resident of Scranton, died Thursday evening at the Moses Taylor Hospital following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Her and her husband George J. Kollar celebrated their 27th wedding Anniversary October. 1, 2004.
She was born in Oaklyn, N. J., Her loving parents, William
and Neta Flemming Glennan, reside in Oaklyn, N.J. She was a member of Nativity
Of Our Lord Church. A graduate of Keystone College receiving an associates
degree in Biochemistry and a graduate of the University of Scranton receiving a
Bachelors degree in Biochemistry. She received her Medical technology
certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologist.
She
was proud of her Irish heritage and was a former member and original starter of
the Black Diamonds Bagpipe Band. She was employed for the past 29 years by
clinical Laboratories Dunmore, as a Hematology Supervisor She devoted her life
to her family and friends, she was an unyielding supporter of her children’s
many activities.
Also Surviving are her five children, 4 daughters, Katie, Molly, Nora and Nellie, a son, Wiley, all at home; a sister, Maureen Eichorn, South New Jersey; a brother, Steven, Southern CA; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Billy and Patrick.
The funeral will be Monday at 9:00 a.m. from the Miller Bean
Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, Scranton with mass at 9:30 a.m. in Nativity
Of Our Lord Church, 633 Orchard Street. Interment will be private at the
convenience of the family in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may call Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial
