Dorothy H. Pagotto Gardner

    Dorothy H. Pagotto Gardner, 73, a resident of Clarks Summit, formerly of Scranton, died Saturday morning in VNA Hospice of Lackawanna County Inpatient Unit at CMC, after an illness. She was the widow of Rolando Pagotto.

    She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Sumilas Vagonis. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, class of 1949, a member of Our Lady of the Snow Church, Clarks Summit. She had been formerly employed as a matron by the Lackawanna County Prison and until her illness was employed by General Dynamics as a security guard.

    She was a wonderful mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who enjoyed every minute of her life and loved being with her family and friends.

    Surviving are 5 sons, Ronald Pagotto and his wife Bev, Peckville, Stephen Pagotto and his wife Tommie, Bel Air, MD; Roger Gardner and his wife Beverly, Scranton, William Gardner, Olyphant, Paul Gardner, Throop; 2 daughters, Elaine Stankevich and her husband Charles, Scranton, Julie Currin, Richmond, VA; a sister, Ann Marie Burshnick and her husband Gerald, Piscataway, NJ; 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Vagonis.

    The funeral will be Wednesday leaving from the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, at 9 a.m. with Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 South State Street, Clarks Summit. Interment, St. Mary’s of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
