Erica J. Pilger

    Erica Justine Pilger, 18, a resident of Scranton, died Saturday evening following injuries sustained in an motor vehicle accident.


    She was born May 14, 1987 in Scranton, the daughter of William C. Pilger, Scranton and Emma Jean Dalrymple Compton, Lebanon. A member of Hickory Street Presbyterian Church. She attended Scranton High School.


    She was a fun loving daughter who enjoyed life to the fullest, she loved everyone around her including her family, friends and neighbors. She loved firefighting were she used to volunteer at the Avoca fire department. She loved her cats especially Phoebe and her rabbit Trauma. She loved to horseback ride every chance she had. She is at peace now and with her true love Danny, who also died Saturday evening from injuries sustained in the same automobile accident. She will be truly missed by hearts and lives she touched.


    Also surviving are, her stepmother, Tamara L. Snyder Pilger, Scranton; stepfather, Keith Compton, Lebanon; 2 stepbrothers, Brandon Snyder, at home; Corey Compton, Maine; paternal grandparents, Jerome Charles and Adeline Kellerman Pilger, Moscow; maternal grandfather, William Dalrymple, AL; step grandfather, James M. Pennington, Saxonburg; step grandmother, Kathleen L. Crayne, Big Timber, MT; step grandfather, Roger P. Compton, Montoursville and step grandmother, Norma Jean Compton, Liberty; an uncle, great aunts, uncles and cousins.


    She was preceded in death by an infant brother, William Charles Pilger, Jr.; maternal grandmother, Margaret E. Dalrymple.


    The funeral will be Thursday with services at 11 a.m. in the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, 435 Hickory Street, by the Rev. Tom H. Collins, pastor. Interment, will be private at the convenience of the family. Those attending Services are asked to go directly to the Church.


    Friends may call Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue.
