Frederick “Fred” Baer, 85, a resident of Scranton, died Tuesday afternoon in VNA
Hospice of Lackawanna County Inpatient Unit at Community Medical Center after an
illness.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Fred Baer and
Johanna Erb Baer Przynosch and stepson of the late Henry Przynosch. He was a
graduate of Scranton Technical High School, a veteran of WW II serving in the US
Army and a member of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church. Prior to retirement
he had been employed by Capitol records. He was very giving and kind.
Surviving is a daughter, Judy Ventimiglia and her husband
Bernard, Clarks Summit; a son, James Baer and his wife Christine, Scranton; a
sister, Augusta McIntyre, Bethlehem; 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren,
nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of
the family by the Rev. Tom H. Collins, Pastor of Hickory Street Presbyterian
Church. Interment, Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Township.
There will be no public calling hours. Memorial contributions
can be made in his memory to the VNA Hospice of Lackawanna County, 301 Delaware
Avenue, Olyphant, PA 18447-1531.
