Margaret M. Reidy

Margaret M. Reidy, 96, a resident of Saint Mary’s Villa Nursing Home, a former
resident of South Scranton for 62 years, died Tuesday afternoon in the Villa,
after an illness. She was the widow of Martin J. Reidy who died March 30, 1974.
She was born in the Providence section of Scranton, the
daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Saltry Ruane. She was a graduate of
Holy Rosary High School, a member of Nativity of Our Lord Church, the Nativity
Golden Age Club, the After 50 Club and was an avid pinochle player. Prior to
marriage she was an operator for the Bell Telephone Company.
Surviving are a daughter, Marcia M. Harney and her husband
Timothy J., Hummelstown; a grandson, Brendan, Philadelphia; several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sadie Snyder; 4
brothers, John, Joseph, James and Michael.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Miller Bean
Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with mass at 10:30 a.m. in Nativity Of Our
Lord Church, 633 Orchard Street. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 to 10
a.m.. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to
