Bertha L. Jenkins

Bertha L. Jenkins, a resident of Clinton, MD, a former longtime resident of Scranton, died Sunday evening in the Bradford Oaks Nursing Home, Clinton, MD. She was the widow of Lawrence Jenkins who died March 21, 1998.
She was born in Edgecomb, NC, the daughter the late Charles
and Minerva Pittman Hines and a member of the Grace Bible Church, Dunmore.
She was a loving mother, and a wonderful friend, who will be
dearly missed by her family and her host of friends.
Surviving are a son, Lawrence Jenkins, Jr., Baltimore, MD; a
daughter, Carolyn L. Jenkins, Upper Marlboro, MD; many distant relatives and a
host of friends.
The funeral will be Friday with Services at 10 a.m. in the
Grace Bible Church, University Drive, Dunmore, by the Rev. Nick Miller,
pastor of the Grace Bible Church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park,
Elmhurst.
Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue.
A tribute will be held to Bertha and Lawrence, Thursday evening at 8:30 p.m., by
Mr. Donald Thompson, a family friend. Memorial
contributions can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 1101 Hill
Street, Jessup, PA 18434-1659.
