Joseph F. "Frank" Baker

    Joseph F. “Frank” Baker, 59, of East Scott Street, Olyphant, died Tuesday evening in the Moses Taylor VNA Hospice Unit after a long battle with lung cancer. He and his wife, the former Wanda J. LaPole celebrated there 25th wedding anniversary September 27, 2005.


    He was born in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late Stanley W. And Fannie Houck Baker. He was educated in Baltimore Public Schools and graduated from Overlea High School, Baltimore. He had been employed at several different production jobs throughout his life.


    He was a loving and caring husband, father and friend to all who knew him. He touched our lives in many ways throughout his short life and will be deeply missed by all of us.


    Also surviving are two daughters, Fannie C. Santagato, Hunlock Creek, Lorraine C. Baker, West Wyoming; two sons, Stanley W. and Benjamin F., both at home; and several cousins.


    The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Services by the Reverend Mark Davis, pastor of the Independent Bible Church, Duryea. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery, Dunmore.
