Amelia "Babe" Canzoneri

Amelia "Babe" Canzoneri, 89, a former resident of Brooklyn and Howard Beach, NY, Margate and North Point, FL, died Tuesday morning in the Mountain Rest Nursing Home, after an illness. She was the widow of Santo "Sandy" Canzoneri, who died may 7, 1991.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Carmine and Donata Caramanno D’Elia, and prior to retirement had been employed by the B. Altman Department Store of New York City, as a buyer, and while living in Florida, for Pan American World Airways, Inc.. She was a volunteer with the Deborah Hospital Foundation, volunteering in hospitals.
Surviving is a sister, Ann Aliquo, Largo, FL; a nephew, Robert D’Elia, Hemlock Farms; two nieces, Patricia DonoFrio, Henderson, NV, Carole Corso, West Chester, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Domenick, Matthew and Angelo.
A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, October 19, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, 430 River Street, Scranton. Interment will be in the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
