Matthew R. “Matty” Leonori

Matthew R. "Matty" Leonori, a resident of Elmhurst, passed away Wednesday evening in the Community Medical Center, shortly after arrival. His widow is the former Marilyn Williams.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Joseph and Diomira Furetti Leonori. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and served as a Radioman Second Class with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Prior to retiring he was co-owner of the Villa Capri Bar and a bartender at the Elmhurst Country Club.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Also surviving is a son, Ric Leonori, Elmhurst; a brother, Aldo Leonori, Scranton; a sister, Emma Goham, Moosic; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bruno Leonori and a sister Lordina Sandy.
The funeral and interment were held privately at the convenience of the family. There will be no pubic calling hours. Arrangements by Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc..
