James P. Brink

    James P. Brink, 74, a resident of Clarks Summit, died Monday afternoon at his home. He and his wife, the former Judy James, celebrated 46 years of marriage July 3, 2005.

    He was born in Scranton, the son of the late James Brink and Gertrude Siglin Brink Gatrone and attended Scranton Public schools. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit and prior to retirement was employed by the trucking industry. He was a veteran of the US Navy, a loyal Democrat and a member of Teamsters Union, Scranton Local 229.

    He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who immensely enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his happiest times were spent with his grandchildren.

    Also surviving are two daughters, Linda Nealon and her husband Thomas, Clarks Summit, Susan Gilroy and her husband Joseph, Scranton; a son, John Brink and his wife Donna, Scranton; 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

    He was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Gay; a son Edward Brink; a brother, William.

    The funeral will be Saturday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, Scranton, with Mass at 12 Noon in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 State Street, Clarks Summit. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family
