Lois M. Butterman

    Lois M. Butterman, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Thursday afternoon in Mountain Rest after a lengthy illness.

    She was born in Scranton and celebrated her 77th birthday January 1st, the daughter of the late Joseph and Romayne Scheuer Butterman. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, a member of the Hickory Street Presbyterian where she taught Sunday School for many years. Prior to retirement she was employed as a computer operator in the Scranton Single Tax Office.

    She truly loved working with the children at Hickory Street Presbyterian Church and held a special place in her heart for her dogs.

    Surviving is a sister, Lucille Gleichman and her husband Earl, Scranton; a nephew, Gary Gleichman, Quincy, IL; a cousin, Robert Dawe, Tonawanda, NY.

    The funeral will be Monday with services at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Services by the Rev. Tom H. Collins, pastor of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery, Dunmore.
