Nan Spencer

    Nan Spencer, a longtime resident of Lake Ariel, died early Saturday morning in her sleep at home. She and her husband William Spencer would have celebrated 57 years of marriage January 29th.

    She was born July 10, 1929 in Scranton, the daughter of the late William and Anna Riley Sheridan. A graduate of Scranton Central High school and prior to retirement she had been employed by the Guild Studio.

    She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be sorely missed.

    Also surviving are 3 children, William Spencer and his wife Nancy, Lake Ariel, Catherine Hargonich and her husband Charles, Lake Ariel, Sandra Baldwin and her husband Joseph, Florida; a sister, Joan O’Hara, Scranton; a brother, Henry Sheridan, Scranton; 5 granddaughters, Jennifer Sherwood, Anna and Halley Hargonich, Sloane and Alexandria Baldwin.

    She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James and Robert Sheridan.

    The funeral will be Wednesday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 10 a.m. in Nativity of Our Lord Church, 633 Orchard Street. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery, Dunmore.
