Leonard J. Kudajewski

    Leonard J. Kudajewski, 78, a former longtime resident of Scranton, currently residing with his son Don Kreglewicz of Wyoming, died Thursday afternoon in the VNA Inpatient Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center after a brief illness. His wife was the former Joan Benke, who died February 10, 1994.

    He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Zigmond and Anna Sury Kudajewski. He had attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, South Scranton. He was stationed aboard the USS Missouri while serving in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He received the Korean Service medal, the United Nations medal, National Defense Service medal, China Service medal, the Good Conduct medal and the Naval Occupation Service medal. Prior to retirement he was employed as a supervisor for Imperial Foods.

    The family would like to thank the nurses at Community Medical Center’s 6th floor and the Community Medical Center VNA Hospice nurses for their care and kindness.

    Surviving is a son, Donald Kreglewicz, Wyoming; two daughters, Linda White, Scranton, Diane Davis and her husband Robert, Vestal, NY; a sister, Mary Ann Palski; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

    Private Funeral Services were held on Saturday with interment in the Sacred Hearts Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made in his memory to the VNA Hospice of Lackawanna County, c/o Community Medical Center, 1822 Mulberry Street, Scranton, PA 18510-2369.
