Paul J. Straka, 67, a long time resident of Lansdale, formerly of Scranton died Friday in Lankenau Hospital, Lower Merion Township. He and his wife the former Nancy M. Martin celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary February 1st.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Marie McCloskey Straka and Mr. Straka. A graduate of the Johnson School of Technology in Scranton, a member of Corpus Christi Church, Upper Gwynedd, the Hatfield American Legion Post #933 and the Fish Hunters Club. He retired from the U.S. Naval Reserves after 23 years of service. He had a lifetime career as a machinist, was currently employed by Judson Technologies in Montgomeryville and was previously employed by AEL, Montgomery Township.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Also surviving are a daughter, Michele Turner and her husband, Robert Turner, Jr. of Lansdale; two grandchildren, Matthew and Kaitlyn; a sister; Mary Ellen McLean of NJ.
The funeral will be Friday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, 430 River Street. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
