

William Borer

William Borer,
80, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died at home Thursday morning after an
illness. His wife the former Margaret Nasko, died May 26, 1980.
He was born in Wyoming, the son of the late Edward and Jean Robertson Borer,
a veteran of the US Army who served during WW II, a member of the Fraternal
Order of Eagles and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #5207. He was employed by the
U.S. Hoffman Machinery Corporation, an Army munitions plant, which in 1963
became the Chamberlain Manufacturing Corporation, which primarily manufactures
projectile metal parts for the U.S. Government. After retirement from there he
worked as a bartender and served as a board member for the Liederkranz Club.
His favorite past times included bowling, billiards and shuffleboard.
Surviving is a daughter, Pamela Seliga and her husband Robert, Scranton; a
son William Borer and his Wife Donna, Moosic; a sister, Mary Ada Campagna and
her husband Joseph, Scranton; six grandchildren, Allyson, Jason, Joshua,
Elizabeth, Jake, Brandon; a great grandson, Gavin; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Malcolm and Edward; 2 sisters,
Jean Mac Donnell and Lenore Ricaby.
The funeral will be Monday in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar
Avenue, with services at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Arthur W. Davis, pastor of the
First Congregational Church of Christ, Taylor. Interment Cathedral Cemetery,
Scranton.
