Robert G. Spindler, 53, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died late Friday evening in the Community Medical Center after an illness.
He was born June 15, 1952 in Scranton, the son of the late George H. and Helen McNerney Spindler. He was a graduate of West Scranton High School and served with the US Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. He had been employed by the Sauquoit Silk Mill and was a member of the Ukrainian Club, Scranton.
He loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews. In his younger years he was an avid bowler and softball player.
Surviving are three brothers, Charles and William, both of Scranton, Arthur, West Pittston; three sisters, Maggie Spindler and Irene Gatto, both of Scranton and Diane Ligi, Throop; an aunt, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Richard and George.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson Street. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
