Ruth C. Kimes, 90, a lifelong resident of South Scranton, died early Saturday morning, in Mercy hospice after an illness. She was the widow of Charles E. Kimes who died December 15, 1992.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late John and Maude Thomas Cooper. She was a member of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Bonnie Schraner, Scranton and Karen Nash, Scranton; 4 grandchildren, Mark Schraner, Scott Schraner, Jeff Nash and Sherri Nash all of Scranton; 9 great grandchildren; 2 nephews.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Lori Jean Schraner and a sister Ethel Bernardo.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with services by the Reverend Tom H. Collins, pastor of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church. Entombment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
