
Mae Frable

Mae Frable, 109 years of age, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Monday afternoon at home. She was the widow of Warren Washington Frable, Sr. who died October 16, 1991.
She was born in Scranton on August 21, 1897, the daughter of the late William and Mary Edwards Allspaugh. She and her husband were the owners of a Nu-Way Market, W. Frable & Son Grocery at 225 South Webster Avenue, for 70 years and Frable’s Wholesale Grocery Company, Lackawanna Avenue.
Surviving is a daughter, Judy Donovan and her husband Bill, Scranton; a son, Warren Frable and his wife Mary, Philadelphia; two granddaughters, Jill Donovan and Holly Donovan, both of Scranton; a great grandson, Eugene Donovan, Scranton; a niece Dorothy Woods, San Antonio TX.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Frable; three brothers, John Allspaugh, William Allspaugh and George Allspaugh.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with services by the Reverend Mary Jane Hitt, Pastor of the Providence United Presbyterian Church, Scranton. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery, Dunmore.
