Charles F. Mangan

    Charles F. Mangan, 74, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Thursday morning at home after an illness. He and wife the former Roberta Carr Kundla celebrated 35 years of marriage on July 7th.

    He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Charles J. and Mary Ann Schneider Mangan. He was a former member of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Scranton Central High School and earned his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Scranton. He served with the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, was a member of the National Honor Society, the Fraternal Order of Police, E.B. Jermyn Lodge #2 and prior to retiring as a detective had been employed for over 26 years as a police officer with the Scranton Police Department.

    He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed the outdoors and loved all animals.

    Also surviving are two sons, John Kundla and Robert Kundla, both of Scranton; four grandchildren, Barbara Kundla, John Kundla, Cassandra Kundla and Ryan Kundla; cousins

    The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with services by the Reverend Tom H. Collins, pastor of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

    Friends may call Sunday 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the donor's favorite charity.
