Christine E. McDonnell, 81, a resident of Binghamton, NY, formerly of Scranton, died Wednesday morning. She was the Widow of James G. McDonnell who died April 23, 1982.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Dalton and Mae Phillips Edwards, a former member of the Myrtle Street United Methodist Church and prior to retirement had been employed by Casual Sportswear.
Surviving are three daughters, Beverly Wasco and her husband Michael, Binghamton, NY, Sandra Buchinski and her husband Ken, Mayfield., Lynne Foresman and her husband Rodger, Charlotte, NC; a sister Gladys Campbell, Phoenixville; several nieces and nephews. She was a loving grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her nine grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Greg, Kevin, Melanie, Katie, Allie and David.
She was preceded in death a granddaughter, Barbra Buchinski; two brothers, Arthur Edwards, Dalton Edwards; a sister, Jessie Mae Brown.
The funeral will be Saturday with Services 10 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, by the Reverend Betty J. Reilly, Pastor of the Myrtle Street United Methodist Church. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery, Dunmore.
