Allen T. Jones, 66, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Tuesday morning in the Moses Taylor Hospital after a brief illness. He and wife the former Irene C. Kuehner would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary July 1st.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Thomas W. and Viola Allen Jones. He was a member of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Scranton Technical High School class of 1957 and served with the US Navy. He had been employed by Akzo Salt, Herff Jones Company and Guy Cali & Jimmy Nicolais Photography.
Also surviving are a son, Mark A. Jones and his companion Rose Marie Speranzo, Scranton; a daughter Karen A. Hofmann and her companion Greg Scardigli Jr., Scranton; a granddaughter, Robin Hofmann, Scranton; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley A. Emick.
The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with services by the Reverend Tom H. Collins, pastor of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
