
Belle Rice

Belle Rice, 93, a longtime resident of Scranton, died Wednesday evening in the Mercy Hospital after an illness. She was the widow of Theodore Raymond Rice.
Prior to retirement she had been employed for many years as an elevator operator in the Medical Arts Building and the Scranton Electric Building, both in downtown Scranton.
Surviving are four daughters, Bette Jeanne, Tonawanda, NY, Ann, Kernersville, NC, Valerie, Dunmore, Constance, Scranton; four sons, Joseph, Tracy and Frank, all of Scranton, David, Schowlow, AZ; a daughter in law, Carol, Avoca; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son Marvin.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Fairview Memorial Park Chapel, Route 435, Elmhurst, with services by the Reverend Tom H. Collins, pastor of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
There will be no calling hours, those attending the service are asked to go directly to the chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the donors favorite charity.
