Evelyn H. Werner, a longtime resident of South Scranton, died Tuesday evening in the Allied Skilled Nursing Center. She was the widow of Paul John Werner who died July 16, 1994.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late William and Martha Grabowski Mollenshott. She was a member of Saint Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, formerly St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and prior to retirement had been employed by the University of Scranton as a faculty secretary.
She will always be remembered for her dedication and love to her family.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Allied Skilled Nursing Center and Allied Terrace for the wonderful care they provided.
Surviving is a daughter, Mary Ann Galenas and her husband Gary, Justus; two sons, Michael Werner, Scranton, David Werner and his wife Linda, Scranton; a sister Carol; a brother Wilbur; six grandchildren, Kevin, Michelle, Lisa and Karen Werner, Jennifer Correll, Matthew Galenas; two great granddaughters, Ava Grace and Claire Allison; a niece, a nephew and cousins.
The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, Scranton, with Services by the Rev. Lester E. Stephenson, pastor of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery, Dunmore.
Friends May call Sunday 5 to 8 p.m. memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the donors favorite charity.
