Robert J. Steen

    Robert J. Steen, 59, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Saturday evening in the Community Medical Center. He and his wife the former Donna Bennett celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary October 12, 2006.

    He was born in Scranton, the only child of Marion Scovazzo Steen, Scranton and the late Robert F. Steen. He was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Church, a graduate of Scranton Technical High School class of 1965 and was stationed in Korea while serving with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and prior to his disability he was employed as a truck driver for Aramark Clean Room Services.

    He was a loving husband, son, father and grandfather who will be missed. He was a man with a big heart who was generous, caring and loving. He enjoyed his camping, fishing, gardening, traveling and spending time with loved ones, family and friends.

    Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Sharon Johnson, Scranton, Kelly Odzana, Taylor; a stepson, Charles Reed, Old Forge; nine step grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Brenda Testa.

    The Funeral will be Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's of the Assumption Church. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton .

    Friends may call on Tuesday 5 to 8 p.m.
