Vito A. Scovazzo

    Vito A. Scovazzo, 88, a resident of Hermitage, died Thursday morning in the Arden Courts Personal Care Home in Pittsburgh. He was the widow of the former Helen Mozeleski who died August 18, 2004.

    He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Anthony and Rose Raymondi Scovazzo. He was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Sharon, PA, a veteran of WW II serving with the United States Army, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hermitage and the Sharon Steel Retiree Club. Prior to retirement he had been employed as an armature winder for Sharon Steel.

    Surviving is daughter; Shirley Gealy and her husband Del, Pittsburgh; two sisters, Marion Steen and Rose Mroz, both of Scranton; a granddaughter, Regan Ozbirn and her husband Kevin, Atlanta, GA; a grandson, Evan Gealy, Pittsburgh; nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by a grandson Aaron Gealy; two brothers Anthony Scovazzo and Vincent James Scovazzo; four sisters, Mary Farrell, Mona Baldo, Josephine Costanzo and Evelyn Scartelli.

    The Funeral will be Monday at 9:00 from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Holy Name of Jesus Church, on the corner of East Elm Street and Froude Avenue, East Mountain. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
