
John G. "Jack" Kaltenbach

John G. "Jack" Kaltenbach, 80, a resident of South Scranton, died late Wednesday evening in the VNA Hospice Inpatient unit at the Moses Taylor Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late John C. And Betty B. Schlittler Kaltenbach. He was a member of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, Scranton. A graduate of the Dunwoody College of Technology, Minnesota, a WW II veteran who served with the US Army. Wanoska Hunting Club. He was the baker and co-owner along with his parents of Kaltenbach's Better Bakery until it's closing in 1988.
He was a very generous, kind loving man who had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by us all. He was an avid Yankee's fan and enjoyed all sports.
Surviving are four cousins, Betty Scull, Moscow, Jacob Schlittler, Moscow, Pearl Rollison, Moscow, Ruth Stephens, Reading; a godchild Glenn Scull, Moscow and many second cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard S. Kaltenbach and his wife Ann.
The funeral will be Monday in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Services at 11 a.m. by the Reverend Tom H. Collins, pastor of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
