Anthony Valensky, 87, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Wednesday at home. He was the widow of, Eleanor Miller Valensky, who died April 15, 1991.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late John and Salomeja Muzieja Walendziak. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and a longtime member of the Scranton Tribune bowling league. Prior to retirement he had been employed in the Baltimore shipyards, the GM plant in Buffalo, NY and Kaplan Veal Processing in Olyphant.
He enjoyed his daily walks and visiting at different area business’s along his way.
Surviving are a son, Anthony Paul and his wife Jan, with whom he resided. Scranton; five grandchildren, Deborah Brennan and her husband Chris Vinton, Orlando, FL, Matthew Brennan and his wife Jeanine, Sterling, Daniel Brennan, April Brennan, Luke Brennan, all of Scranton; two great grandchildren, Jillian Brennan, Gavin Brennan; a son in law, Marty Brennan, Scranton; a brother in law, Russell Miller and his wife Florence, Scranton.
He was preceded in death by five daughters, Judith Ann Brennan, Barbara Trumbo, Linda Susan Valensky, Elizabeth Valensky, Rusanne Valensky; three brothers, Jack, Paul and Stanley.
The Funeral Service, with military honors, will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, services by the Reverend James E. Edwards, retired.
