
CPO Jack E. Barrett

Chief Petty Officer Jack E. Barrett, a resident of South Scranton, died early Sunday morning at home, unexpectedly. He and his wife, the former Barbara D. Pascalo, celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary June 1st.
He was born May 14, 1943 in Somerville, MA, the son of the late John K. "Shamus" and Vera Stewart Barrett. He was retired from the United States Navy, the president of the Nativity Social Club and a member of the American Legion Post #306, Taylor.
Also surviving are three sons, Ty A. Beckner and his wife Patty, Old Forge, Ryan B. Barrett, Scranton, Chris K. Barrett and his wife Marissa, Ravena, NY; a sister, Barbara Ann Ciamataro and her husband Victor, MA; four grandchildren, Ty, Kayla, Brynn and Jacob; nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother Stephen Barrett.
A Blessing Service will be held Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
