Georgia C. Mollenshott

    Georgia C. Mollenshott, a longtime resident of Scranton, died Thursday morning in the Community Medical Center VNA Inpatient Hospice Unit, after a brief illness. She and her husband, Wilbur W. Mollenshott, celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary January 27th .

    She was born in Streator, IL, the daughter of the late Russell and Isabel Stevens Broyles. She was a graduate of Springfield High School, MO, a member of St. Matthew United Evangelical Lutheran Church, the church choir, Worship of Music Committee and a member of the Women of St. Matthews. She had been employed by the Office of the Army Quartermaster Corp in Washington, DC and retired from International Correspondence School.

    She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.

    Also surviving are a daughter, Pamela Hubshman and her husband Robert Jr., Scranton; a son, Mark Mollenshott, Dunmore; three grandchildren, Robert Hubshman III and his wife Dana, Old Forge, Melissa Schreiber and her husband James, Philadelphia, Tanya Mollenshott, NJ; three great grandchildren; a brother, Richard Broyles and his wife Joan, Rogers AR, a sister, Diane Chaffin, Kansas City, MO; a sister in law, Carol Russanano, Scranton; nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by a sister Wyoma Styles.

    A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Matthews United Evangelical Lutheran Church, 425 Jefferson Avenue, by the Reverend C. Lester Stephenson, Pastor. Cremation Services took place at Maple Hill at Salem Crematory, Archbald.

    The family will greet friends on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Service in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Saint Matthews United Evangelical Lutheran Church, 425 Jefferson Avenue, Scranton, PA 18510-2492, or to the donors favorite charity.
