Joseph F. Rempe, 92, a longtime resident of Scranton, died Tuesday in the Golden Living Center, the former Adams Manor Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness. His wife, the former Adele F. Walston, died October 3, 2002.
He born in Scranton, the son of the late Henry and Mary Christ Rempe. He was a member of the St. Mary's of the Assumption Church, a veteran of WW II serving with the United States Army, a member of the American Legion and the Veteran of Foreign Wars.
He enjoyed watching baseball and attending the games. He was a big fan of the Baltimore Orioles.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Peter, Henry and John; three sisters, Marie Cali, Louise Walsh and Sister Lartitia, Sister’s of Christian Charity.
A Blessing Service will be held Friday at 10 AM in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
